Our office is fully integrated with
the computer. In addition to standard word processing, spreadsheet,
project database, marketing database, and bookkeeping functions,
we perform our architectural design and production operations on
computer. This includes:
- Design,
including mass modeling, schematic floor plans, conceptual site plans, and 3D
perspective views of both exterior and interior of the building.
- Detailed working drawings
and specifications.
This has allowed us to produce clear
and accurate drawings that reduce the chance of error. Major changes
are simple by comparison to old hand-drawing methods. We can also
produce these drawings in far less time than by hand, which allows
more time for us to be more engaged in the creative aspects of
architectural design. It allows us to do better that which the
computer cannot do at all: be creative. We use Autodesk software:
AUTOCAD and Softdesk Architectural and Mechanical.
CAD Viewer Instructions
It is possible to view some of our
CAD drawings and manipulate them to a limited extent using CADViewer.
To access this program, click on view actual CAD drawings
link in the menu box at the top right of this page, or at the
end of these instructions. The toolbar at the top of the CADViewer
gives you different options on how to manipulate the drawings.
When you drag your mouse across the toolbar buttons, a description
of its operation is described at bottom left of screen. The toolbar
file folder button opens a list of other drawings you may load
and view. There are standard zoom functions: zoom in (+), zoom
out (-), full screen zoom, and view window zoom, in which the
highlighted section is enlarged to full screen size. There is
also a pan function which lets you view other areas of the drawing
by dragging the drawing across the screen with your mouse.
To select other drawings for viewing,
use the open command or click the link at the bottom of the viewer
to return to our CAD page. Open
